Best New Air Portable Air Conditioner
Home should be where you are most comfortable. However, it is not always possible to stay comfortable in your home during the hottest days of summer; especially if you live in the south where temperatures soar the highest. The reason for this is simple; most home air conditioners cannot keep up. They need an extra hand. That is where portable ACs come in and according to some; there is none better than the NewAir brand. Read our full New Air 10,000 BTU review to find out what makes it so great.

It is an energy efficient model so that you do not have to worry about an increase in your power bill. This is ideal for people who live on a tight budget.
You can use the NewAir portable without worry about damage to your floors. It uses an auto-evaporative system to provide hours of continuous use without ever needing to be drained.
You can customize the cooling options to meet your needs. It has adjustable temperature settings to ensure that your room is always the right temperature and it does have a 12-hour programmable timer with sleep mode. The display is located on the front of the machine and easy to read. However, you can also control it from across the room with the included remote control.

This AC uses R-410A refrigerant, which is safe for the environment. This means you can enjoy being cooler in all ways.
NewAir is certainly a less heard-of brand, unlike Black+Decker Portable Air Conditioners, but it doesn't mean it isn't good! Sometimes brand name isn't everything, but this is really up to specs and even the warranty.
The NewAir 10,000 BTU air conditioner is ultra-compact so that you can put it where you want it or take it with you when you walk around. It weighs in at only 48.4 pounds and measures 12.1 x 15.1 x 29.8 inches.
It has an automatic fan that can increase or decrease in speed, depending on the amount of coolness your space needs to keep you cool and comfortable. This means you can have the timer set to turn on before you get home and the air conditioner will work quickly to cool off your space and then slow down to maintain the cooler temperatures. You will never have to think about constantly adjusting the air conditioner to meet your comfort needs again.
It offers an air flow of 218 CFM and a noise level of 57 dBA. The frequency is measured at 60 Hz. This means it is a little loud, but typically not much louder than traditional window unit air conditioners.

Installation
This unit comes with everything you need for an easy installation. The unit is fully assembled, except for the hose. The hose extends up to 5 feet so you can put it where you want it and still have it exhaust to the outside through a window. It does say that you should run the hose straight out to the window, but most owners say that they have to bend it and it works fine. The window kit is also easy to install and works well with most windows.
NewAir 10 AC Review Consensus
Most of the New Air portable air conditioner reviews are positive. However, with it being new on the market, it does not have very much for a rating. Most negative reviews are from people who have used it for years or complain about the noise issues. Overall, people say that it cools very effectively. They feel it has a good warranty and impressive customer support. Most say that it is not so loud that they are uncomfortable when using it. They can even use it in their bedroom without it interrupting their sleep. They say it is very efficient and cools rooms quickly thanks to the automatic fan that adjusts its speed based on the room’s needs.
The only real potential downside to this unit is that the customer support team may sometimes take a few days to answer complaints through email. These people also admit that when their issues were replied to; the results were mostly satisfactory.
Is It Worth It?
This AC is worthy of considering for anyone who lives in a dorm or has an area within their home or office that needs to be cooler. It is a little more expensive than some units, but the features of it make it worth it. Most others are larger and not as energy efficient than the NewAir and it is made even better by the fact that it puts out enough air to cool decently sized rooms. We like the fact that it promises to be leak free and that most owners say that they never have to empty the drip tray; even when running it constantly. The noise level could be a little bothersome for some people, but anyone who is used to having a fan turned on or a window unit will not find any reason to complain about the noise levels. We also like that it is fully assembled because it ensures that all you have to do is take it home, unbox it, put the hose out the window, and enjoy a cooler home. Overall, we think it is definitely worth considering if you hope to find an air conditioner that works well without having a major impact on your power bill.
